Individual Depth Therapy
Individual Depth Therapy
People come to therapy for many reasons, and starting the process can bring both hope and uncertainty. To turn towards yourself, even when the path forward is not yet clear, is a courageous act. Therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and grow. Whatever brings you here, you do not have to face it alone. I welcome a chance to connect and see how I might be of help. Below are answers to some common questions about therapy.
I work with clients navigating a wide range of challenges. I specialize in attachment and trauma-related symptoms, particularly complex early life experiences or recurring patterns that impact relationships with oneself and others. However, I work with a wide range of concerns.
My style is relational, warm, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity and respect. I aim to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where you feel seen and understood. I believe that healing happens in the context of safety and connection. The space and treatment are built together.
My approach is grounded in contemporary psychodynamic therapy and attachment theory. I also integrate other approaches based on your unique needs, drawing from trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and evidence-based practices to support your goals.
The therapy process is deeply personal and varies with each individual. I find that early sessions often focus on relief—finding tools to cope and manage day-to-day life. Over time, we drop into deeper layers: exploring patterns, attending to that which feels stuck, facing difficult truths, uncovering insight, and fostering growth.
While healing can sometimes be painful, it opens the door to greater connection—with yourself, with others, and with the world around you. Much like going to the gym, you may not always feel like coming, and some days you may leave with "sore muscles". But with time, you grow stronger. Shifts can be profound and lasting.
Therapy is also a process of honing an internal compass - a deeper place of knowing that can guide you even amidst the noise and uncertainty of modern life. Life rarely unfolds in predictable ways, and therapy can help you navigate uncertainty with greater self-awareness, self compassion, and resilience.
Phone Consultation
The first step to determining if we would be a good fit is for us to speak on the phone for a 15 minute consultation. Please contact me to set up a time to talk.
Beginning Therapy
After the initial phone consult, the first several sessions are typically a mutual assessment period. During these early sessions, you have a chance to experience my therapeutic approach, we can collaborate to clarify your reasons for seeking therapy, and we can determine together whether it is a fit. If during the course of these initial sessions we find that another provider, therapeutic approach or a specialization area would better support you, I can help by providing referrals and recommendations based on the insights gained from our time together.
Scheduling
Individual therapy sessions typically occur weekly at a recurring time that we select together.
Cancellation Policy
Please let me know at least 48 hours in advance if you are unable to attend a session. If less than 48 hours notice is given, an out of pocket late fee will be charged for the time reserved.
